Manga review: Chibi Devi!

Title (Original): Chibi Devi!
Title (Indonesia): Chibi Fairy!
Mangaka: Shinozuka Hiromu

This is Shinozuka Hiromu's latest work after Koisuru Purin! (Pudding in Love!)
The genre is Comedy, Romance, Fantasy, Shoujo, and obviously Supernatural.

[CONTAIN SPOILER]

The story is about Sawada Honoka, who doesn't believe in fairies and angels, because she felt like she had never receive any good things or even happiness since her childhood. She often bullied by her classmates. And what's more, she lived with her busy aunt, and her aunt is rarely come home due to her work.
One night, she fell asleep after crying over her loneliness.
And the next day, in the morning...
When she woke up, a baby mysteriously appeared and sleeping peacefully next to her!
She was confused. How did the baby come into her room? And what's more, Honoka later discovered that the baby, named 'Mao', is a 'fairy baby' that come from another world!

Based on some review on mangaupdates.com, this manga reminds some people about a manga titled 'Beelzebub', which shares a same plot, about a baby that comes from another world and the main character works as a substitute parent. The main difference between 'Chibi Fairy!' and 'Beelzebub' is the genre. One is shoujo manga, and the another is shounen manga. Of course the main goal is also different, both of them have an unpredictable ending since both of those manga are still ongoing.

I love Shinozuka Hiromu's artwork, it's very very very cute! Her artwork became the main charm on this manga! You gotta love the fairy babies, they're REAAALLLY cute!

And I like the story, and also the relationship between the characters. The main male character, Shin Sugisaki, have a role as substitute dad for Mao, and live together with Honoka since the beginning of his role as substitute dad (Chapter 5).
The romantic relationship between Shin and Honoka will later develop after they live together and work together as substitute parent.

But too bad, the manga progress is kinda slow. The characters' growth are pretty fast, but the story is spinning around the characters' growth only. There are some things that makes me curious but I think the mangaka will explain it later on further chapter.
And also... Not much romance. I like Shin and Honoka as a couple, and I hope they involved into a more romantic relationship than a relationship as 'subsitute parents'... Teehee

For those who likes to read romance manga, this manga didn't have plenty of romantic chapters, just few and also filled with comedy. So for those who were searching for a Comedy-Supernatural shoujo manga with a cute romantic story PLUS cute artworks, this manga fits you well!
